Rock mites
The rock mite is a small and docile basilisk that grazes along Ardika's steppes and nests in the depths. It's a serial devourer of sediment with a beak hard enough to scrape through and shatter rock. Its burrows pose a great threat to Ardika's mining industry, being the main cause of tunnel collapses.Due to the extinction of the balaur mites no longer have a natural enemy to keep their population in check. Ardi hunt them, but also found ways to utilize them as pets. While mites aren't affected by low oxygen in the tunnels, they sense and alert their pack of gasses.
